BRAU Beviale 2008: direction–setting new developments

Experience a wide selection of precisely functioning, fully automatic devices from HEUFT in action

The organisers of the BRAU Beviale 2008 exhibition anticipate a particularly high demand for innovative filling and packaging technologies – a main topic which suits the HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH product portfolio ideally. The leading manufacturer of high–performance labelling, transport, rejection and quality assurance systems will present numerous new developments in addition to tried and tested devices from 12 to 14 November at the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre in Hall 5 / Stand 309–315: the highly efficient HEUFT TORNADO S flex labeller and the optimised HEUFT InLine R 10 empty bottle inspector.

Visitors to the trade meeting can experience a wide selection of precisely functioning, fully automatic devices at first hand.

New high–performance labeller with servomotors

The HEUFT TORNADO S flex a high–performance labeller with servomotors which is suitable for numerous applications and does full justice to the particularly high demands of the premium segment is celebrating its exhibition debut. It achieves an output of up to 48,000 labels per hour and picks up points due to its flexibility: its rotating cam is not activated mechanically but electronically. It is exactly this which makes it so versatile.
As a result the HEUFT TORNADO S flex can be programmed according to the brand making an exact electronic alignment and individual labelling of the bottles possible – not only ideal for the noble no label look.
HEUFT has broken completely new ground regarding the construction of the in–house developed system.  The result: an innovative solution which clearly stands out from conventional labelling technologies.

The HEUFT InLine R 10:  fourfold sidewall inspection in a compact casing

Detecting glass faults, foreign objects and contamination even more precisely:  this is certainly achieved with the further development of the proven fourfold sidewall inspection from the HEUFT company.  This solution which provides four sidewall pictures is available with immediate effect in the particularly compact casing of the standard HEUFT InLine empty bottle inspector.
Two cameras photograph the two opposite sides of a container first.  This is then rotated by 90 degrees and two pictures are taken of the opposite sides.  Above all faults on frosted glass bottles and containers with special shapes or glass structures are detected particularly precisely in this way.
Angular containers which do not rotate can be inspected in addition to round containers with one and the same device.  The HEUFT InLine R 10 provides an additional innovation beyond tried and tested functions such as the base, finish and thread inspection as well as the mineral ring, scuffing and residual liquid detection:  the device now also detects rust rings on the bottle finish due to a special camera technology.  The troublesome discolouration caused by rusty crown corks is often so obstinate that the bottle washer cannot loosen it.  The HEUFT InLine R 10 ensures that the containers affected by this are rejected.

Highly efficient inspection and quality assurance systems

Eight other inspection systems with current improvements and further developments can be seen:

  • The HEUFT eXaminer XXO full container inspection which not only reliably tracks down solid foreign objects such as pieces of glass and metal but also low density contamination such as foil and bits of paper in filled, closed bottles due to an ingenious combination of a fourfold radiometric base inspection and a double optical base and sidewall inspection.
  • The HEUFT squeezer leakage check which locates leaks in plastic containers by applying a precisely controlled amount of pressure and using a comparative fill measurement.  It also checks the correct positioning and integrity of the closures.
  • The HEUFT FinalView quality inspection which subjects full containers to a detailed final inspection using functions such as the fill level, leakage and vacuum check, closure and label inspection, barcode and BBD inspection as well as the serial fault detection.
  • The HEUFT LGX returned case sorting system which checks whether incoming empty cases are affected by an assortment of bottles and distributes them accordingly afterwards.
  • The HEUFT conveyor contain transport system which transports all types of containers particularly reliably, carefully, cleanly and quietly on one or more lanes along the filling line.
  • The HEUFT VX fill management solution which checks the quality of each container immediately after it has been filled and at the same time analyses the function of the filler and closer.
  • The HEUFT vio OCR code reader which checks the BBD and helps to prevent costly incorrect coding.
  • The HEUFT basic compact full container check which reliably detects faulty containers and rejects them or distributes them onto two different lanes.

All the systems presented in Hall 5 / Stand 309–315 at the BRAU Beviale 2008 exhibition have a modular construction and can be ideally adapted to the special requirements of the customer as is the case with all the HEUFT developments.
