OMAC, Weihenstephan - all inclusive

What do the abbreviations IEC 61131-3, ISA-S88, Make2Pack, WBF, ISA-S95 and IEC 61512 mean to you? They all represent international standards in the field of data exchange between machines. One defines conventions for programmable logic control, another is concerned with batch identification and another with the data exchange between different operating software levels.

The Weihenstephan standards are the authoritative guidelines in Europe regarding data acquisition in the bottling hall and are compatible with OMAC (Open Modular Architecture Control) standards, the North American amalgamation of end users, machine manufacturers and technology suppliers in the electronics and software sector. Their aim is similar to that of the Weihenstephan standards; to create an open standard of communication in the packaging industry. There are many similarities with the contents of the European equivalent and therefore co-operation between the Weihenstephan study group and OMAC made sense. The result is a reciprocal adjustment of the standards relating to crucial points.

The HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH company uses many of these standards without them being self-evident as an advantage to the customer. The reason for this can probably be found in the universality of these guidelines. From car manufacturers to medical engineering - many businesses are affected.

HEUFT has taken part with great commitment in the development of these guidelines and was one of the first users. HEUFT devices are even retrospectively compatible. The advantages for the customer are obvious: shorter project times, transparent machine interfaces at lower costs.

As an international company HEUFT SYSTEMTECHNIK GMBH is pleased to pass on the advantages of devices and machines which comply with Weihenstephan as well as OMAC standards to its customers.
